Jugular (central venous) catheters (CVC) provide unparalleled flexibility to monitor and manage patients, especially critical or intensive cases, compared to standard peripheral catheters. They can also be placed in other peripheral veins when jugular access is not available.
Multi-lumen CVCs allow multiple dedicated catheter channels via a single device. In doing so, they offer greater options in terms of access sites available, placement duration, length as well as better I/V access for invasive procedures.

Catheter Types |
There are two main types of CVC placement (Seldinger/’Guide Wire’ and ‘Through-the-needle’), differing in their placement technique and their limitations in use. We currently supply Seldinger kits, as we believe these are clinically better than through the needle sets. Click for more details. |

Our CVC Coding explained
|
|
Our CVC coding is very simple and should help you to use and order the right product. All CVCs are coded with 4 numerals followed by two letters: |
| |
1st number: |
Number of lumens |
| |
2nd number: |
Catheter size (o/d Fr) |
| |
Last two digits: |
length (cm) |
| |
Letters: |
“JC” for plain capped jugular catheter, or
“NF” for Needle-Free capped version |
So for example :- |
** 2412-JC catheter is: 2 lumens, 4 Fr o/d, 12 cm long, with plain caps ** |
