| 1. DRAIN TIP CONFIGURATION |
| |
Non-trochar drains have the best drainage capacity with three pairs of lateral holes and a full bore diameter end hole. They and are also longer than trochar drains, making them ideal for use at routine thoracotomy. |
|
| |
Trochar drains are easiest for most users to place in emergency thoracic drainage procedures. They have a single pair of lateral holes and the end hole is smaller than the lumen diameter. |

| 2. DRAIN CONNECTIVITY |
|
| |
Plain Chest Drains use the original drain connector as supplied by our manufacturer. This connector can fixed to the drain to allow use on your favourite collection device or removed to allow use of our needle-free drain connectors. The length of plain drains can also be adapted to suit your patient.
Plain non-trochar drains can be placed in antegrade or retrograde direction. |

|
Needle-Free Chest Drain Kits are supplied with everything required for security and safe drain activation. The drain length is adapted to suit anticipated patient size and cannot be altered, as they are pre-bonded for ease of connection.
Non-trochar kits are FULLY bonded (simply place, secure and use them).
Trochar kits need a single connection (luer or push-fit) for complete closure.
As well as ease of connection, all our needle-free sets feature: |
|
|
Needle-Free valve for secure closure and easy drain access |
| |
C-clamp on drain (matched to drain size) |
