Our check valves and needle-free valves offer unparalleled flexibility to you and safety to your patients during infusion therapy.  Both valves do different jobs, but they are often best used together to achieve maximum versatility and patient safety.

Although designed and manufactured for infusion therapy, we have both adopted and adapted these valves to suit applications in drainage and critical care cases.  In particular, the needle free valve is used on all our needle free chest drains and needle free jugular catheter kits.  We strongly believe that needle-free connections are the safest and easiest option for closure and management of chest drains and similar applications.

Follow these links for further information on these valves in our 'Making the most of ModuFlo' guide:

Check Valve

Basic Function

During normal flow infusion pressure keeps the valve open, so fluid flows in forward direction.

If distal pressure becomes greater than infusion pressure the valve closes, preventing fluid and blood flow toward the chamber.

Features and Benefits

Check Valve

An in-line silicone disc valve allowing one-way flow or fluid or air

Male & female luer connection

Prevents back-flow of fluids under pressure from secondary lines

Prevents bleeding if your patient damages line proximal to valve

Essential if using pumps to deliver a secondary infusion

Pack Size: SINGLE

Needle-Free Valve

Basic Function

A silicone luer activated valve that allows full flow of air or fluid when the activated by syringe, extension or infusion line.

When not activated, the valve fully seals the female luer; thus ensuring a closed fluid path and no risk of ingress/egress of air or fluid
These valves make the safest option for closing chest drains as there is no risk of accidental opening

Design Features

Valve is swabable, due to the central access point and convex shape, so no capping is required

New stem design has improved male luer capture and valve sealing

FDA-approved for needle-puncture, permitting needle access if required

Clinical Features

Simple and safe patient disconnection

Reduced risk of disturbing catheter placement during patient movement

Cap provide on FNV-MF-H to protect from gross contamination

Valve can be autoclaved if asepsis is broken prior to use

Fully compatible with all infusion, transfusion and TPN applications

Unique design makes the valve fully compatible with all imaging modes, including MRI, and all IV contrast agents
Design allows fully closed placement of seldinger devices for central lines and chest drains
